The Smartpur project is bustling with its initial expansion activities at a PAN India level. At Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, there are 10 new centres where operations’ work has begun, i.e. setting up of infrastructure, equipment set-up, provision of wireless Internet connection, etc. across the identified 10 villages, and is slated for its inauguration in the upcoming months. Similarly, 10 centres at Bharatpur and Alwar each in Rajasthan are in the process of setting up and will be up post Ghazipur.
Smartpur under its Health pillar has collaborated with an online platform called DocOnline. Telemedicine services will be available such as a consultation from a wide group of 300 plus doctors who will be available online and accessible to villagers wherein the outreach of the project will be made.
At Nuh, Haryana on September 17th 2018, there was a health awareness camp organised by the centre’s staff for middle school students and teachers at the village level (Tain). The need for maintaining personal hygiene and sanitation in and around oneself were the key aspects which were discussed in detail, with a participation of more than 50 students and three teachers.
Further there were visits at the centre made by the organisations for seeking information and future collaborations around the project design and initiatives. There were two such visits made by Self Reliant India and Bajaj CSR group. The resource person for Bajaj CSR group ended up mentioning in the visitor’s register that the Internet connectivity at Tain village HUB centre at Nuh was better than their office at Pune!
