Smartpur at Ghazipur inaugurated on November 4th 2018. The initiation was made by Sri Manoj Sinha, hon’ble Minister for State Railways and Minister for Telecommunication (independent charge), who was the chief guest for the event along with the team of district administration, NOKIA and DEF, for bringing the smart village ecosystem to his constituency for the benefit of people of 10 villages here, after observing the successful pilot of the project at Nuh, Haryana.
Activities have started off with village Saraiya (one of the Smartpur hub centres) with the staff conducting successfully two health camps with a turnout of 286 people from the area, availing facilities such as checkup for eye, seasonal flu, pox and also checking the nutrition status especially among children. Two batches of digital literacy with 8 children each have also begun at the centre.
Further, trainings are being undertaken at the southern zone for entrepreneurs who shall be involved in locations that of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for flagging off Smartpur ahead.
At Kanchipuram’s Smartpur centre in village Asoor, telemedicine is making waves among the locals, as the doctor who is made available with the collaboration of DocOnline is well versed with colloquial languages thereby building report and trust among the beneficiaries. There are 65 beneficiaries who have benefited under telemedicine service being provided at the centre.
