K Shiva Laxmi is a young girl from Cheemalapalli village of Andhra Pradesh. She was always motivate to see her father going to work and aspired to find a job and work dedicatedly like him. After completing her graduation she started to look for a job, soon she realized that without being digitally literate it was hard to find a decent job.
To gain the digital skills she joined Cheemalapalli Smartpur center, which was 15 kilometer away from her home. During the course period of three continuous months she travelled 15 kilometers to the center without being absent. With her eagerness to learn and do something in her life within a short period she gained most of the skills of working on a computer, using internet, writing and sending emails. MS Office.
Today she is working with Asian Paints as a computer operator; she also helps her colleagues in trouble shooting, shares expert knowledge on MS Office and more. She feels thankful to all the people of Smartpur project in building her career, but the truth is that her hard work and determination paid her off in the end.
