Smartpur has been a very successful community centric initiative which has been very dynamic in the role it plays at the village level. The stories from the ground from this initiative motivate us to be more creative and bring about local sustainable solutions to bridge the digital gap. The Smartpur team is actively engaged with the beneficiaries and as part of reinforcing the vision of the project, a Refresher Workshop was conducted by the management team in Delhi. Pramod Verma, a SoochnaPreneur from Gazipur district of Uttar Pradesh provided a testimonial on his take on the workshop.
“My centre provides services related to governance, finance, literacy and helps to raise awareness among the people from the village. At the Smartpur Refresher Workshop, team members from all the locations gathered and learned new things about the project implementation, evaluation and team management. It was my first workshop of this sort and the three days of training had been very insightful.
The first day’s session, centred around time and team management, helped me personally along with encouraging me to work more closely and empathetically with my team. Earlier, I used to face difficulties in managing my time and was stressed about my work. With the techniques taught at the session, I have been able to manage my time very well and was well guided on ways to avoid procrastination at the workplace. The concept of ‘RAC-Record, Analysis and Change’ was very well explained which has helped me in my day-to-day-life.
On the second day, it was very insightful to know about the progress of other locations and examples of the challenges being tackled without complaining about the hurdles. The session with my teammates and other project officers was motivating to continue our work.
Interaction with Mr Gulrez from KPMG and his appreciation for our work was inspiring. We also learnt how to collect and write case stories which would prove to be very useful in bringing out the testimonials from the field.
Every activity was well designed which is useful in personal and professional life. I look forward to attending many such workshops that help us to connect with our team and provide a new outlook on the implementation of the program.”
